Emphasis on eating halal and its reason
Hadith 1922
- (من استطاع منكم أن لا يحول بينه وبين الجنة ملء كف من دم امرئ مسلم أن يهريقه؛ كأنما يذبح به دجاجة، كلما تعرض لباب من أبواب الجنة؛ حال الله بينه وبينه، ومن استطاع أن لا يجعل في بطنه إلا طيباً فإن أول ما ينتن من الإنسان بطنه) .
Sayyiduna Jundub bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If anyone has the resolve that he does not let even a handful of the blood of a Muslim man, which he sheds as if slaughtering a chicken (i.e., considering it worthless), come between himself and Paradise, then let him do so, because whenever he comes to any gate of Paradise, he will find (that blood) as a barrier between himself and Paradise. Similarly, whoever can put only lawful things into his stomach (should also do so), because it is the human stomach that, (after death, compared to the rest of the body) decays the fastest."
