Hadith 1921

Sayyiduna Miqdam bin Ma’dikarib al-Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "The worst vessel that a person can fill is his stomach. It is sufficient for a person to eat a few morsels that keep his back straight. But if he must (eat more), then let him fill one third (of his stomach) with food, one third with drink, and one third with air (for breathing)."
