If one forgets “Bismillah” at start of meal
Hadith 1833
- " من نسي أن يذكر الله في أول طعامه فليقل حين يذكر: بسم الله في أوله وآخره فإنه يستقبل طعاما جديدا، ويمنع الخبيث ما كان يصيب منه ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: If a person forgets to mention the name of Allah at the beginning of the meal, then as soon as he remembers, he should say: "With the name of Allah, at its beginning and at its end." Because he will start the meal anew and will prevent the evil one (Satan) from that which he had already obtained.
