Prompting the dying to say “La ilaha illallah”
Hadith 1716
- " لقنوا موتاكم: لا إله إلا الله، فإن نفس المؤمن تخرج رشحا ونفس الكافر تخرج من شدقه كما تخرج نفس الحمار ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Instruct those near death to say «لا اله الا الله»; the soul of the believer departs like the dripping of sweat, while the soul of the disbeliever departs from his jaws like the braying of a donkey."
