Hadith 170

- (إنّ هذا اخترط سيفي وأنا نائمٌ، فاستيقظت وهو في يده صلتاً، فقال لي: من يمنعك مني؟ قلت: الله، فها هو ذا جالسٌ) .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I participated in a military expedition towards Najd with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned, I was also with him. While traveling, we reached a valley at the time of midday rest, in which there were many thorny trees. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) camped there, and the people scattered to seek shade under the trees. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came under an acacia tree and hung his sword on it. We fell asleep, when suddenly the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called us. When we reached him, we saw that a Bedouin was sitting near him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) told us: "I was asleep, and this Bedouin took my sword out of its sheath. When I woke up, my sword was drawn in his hand. He said to me: 'Who will protect you from me?' I said: 'Allah.' Look! Now he is sitting here (and could do me no harm)." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not take any revenge on him.
