Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! By Allah! I love you." (Upon hearing this) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Trials descend upon those who love me just as the flow of a flood swiftly reaches its end."
