Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There will be a great liar among the tribe of Thaqif and a destroyer (i.e., one who causes destruction)." This hadith is narrated from Lady Asma bint Abu Bakr Siddiq, Abdullah bin Umar, and Salamah bint Jafiyah (may Allah be pleased with them). It is narrated from Lady Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said to Hajjaj: Be aware! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us that "there will be a great liar among the tribe of Thaqif and a destroyer." We have seen the liar; as for the destroyer, I think that it is you.
