Hadith 156

- (إن سَرَّك أنْ تفي بنذْركِ؛ فأعتقي مُحَرَّراً من هؤلاء. يعني: من بني العَنْبرِ) .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard three things from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in favor of Banu Tamim, after which I never bore any enmity towards Banu Tamim. (Their details are as follows:) (1) Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) had vowed to free a slave from the descendants of Isma'il (peace be upon him). Meanwhile, some people from Banu Anbar were taken captive. When they were brought, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you want to fulfill your vow, then free one slave from among them." That is, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared them to be the descendants of Isma'il. (2) Once, some camels given in charity were brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and their beauty and elegance amazed him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These are the camels of my people." That is, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared them to be his own people. He also said: (3) "They are fierce fighters in intense battles."
