Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Every child of the children of Adam, when he is born, Satan touches him, so he cries out loudly because of that touch, except for Lady Maryam (peace be upon her) and her son (Isa, peace be upon him)." Then Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: «وَاِنِّىْٓ اُعِيْذُهَابِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ الشَّيْطٰنِ الرَّجِيْمِ» "And I seek refuge for her (Maryam) and her offspring with You from the accursed Satan."
