- " ألا ترين أني قد حلت بين الرجل وبينك. يعني أبا بكر الصديق وابنته عائشة ".
Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came and sought permission to enter upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He had heard that Sayyidah A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) was raising her voice in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted him permission, and he entered and said: “O daughter of Umm Ruman!” and he wanted to grab her, “Do you raise your voice in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?” But the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) intervened between them. When Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) left, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), trying to please Sayyidah A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), said: “See, I intervened between you and that man.” (Meanwhile) Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came again and sought permission, and heard that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was making Sayyidah A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) laugh. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted him permission (to enter), and he entered. (This time) Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “O Messenger of Allah! Include me in your atmosphere of peace and reconciliation just as you included me in your quarrel.”
