Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Mahmud bin Labid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What I fear most for you is minor shirk." The Companions asked: What is minor shirk? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is showing off. On the Day of Resurrection, when Allah Almighty will recompense people, He will say to those who showed off: Go to those for whom you used to show off in the world and see if you find any reward with them."
