Evil of breaking covenants, widespread immorality, and not giving zakat
Hadith 1405
- " ما نقض قوم العهد قط إلا كان القتل بينهم، وما ظهرت فاحشة في قوم قط إلا سلط الله عز وجل عليهم الموت، ولا منع قوم الزكاة إلا حبس الله عنهم القطر ".
Abdullah bin Buraidah narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whenever a nation breaks a covenant, widespread killing occurs among them; whenever immorality becomes prevalent in a nation, Allah imposes death upon them; and whenever a nation withholds zakat, Allah withholds rain from them."
