Hadith 137

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever shows enmity to a friend of Mine, I declare war against him. There is nothing by which My servant draws nearer to Me more beloved to Me than the things I have made obligatory upon him. And My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory acts until I love him. And when I love him (as a result of his devotion, fulfillment of obligations, and diligence in supererogatory acts), I become his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he grasps, and his foot with which he walks. If he asks Me for anything, I will surely grant it to him, and if he seeks refuge with Me from anything, I will surely grant him refuge. And I do not hesitate about anything as I hesitate about seizing the soul of the believer, for he dislikes death and I dislike to displease him.”
