Second caliph who takes allegiance in presence of first should be killed
Hadith 1346
- (إذا بُويعَ لِخلِيفتينِ؛ فاقتُلُوا الآخِرَ مِنْهُما) .
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When allegiance is pledged to two caliphs (one after the other), then kill the second one." This hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id, Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Abu Sufyan, Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them).
