Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Causing harm (by diminishing your brother's rights) and causing greater harm (in response to harm received) are not permissible." This hadith has been narrated, both with connected and disconnected chains, from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas, Sayyiduna Ubadah ibn Samit, Sayyidah Aisha, Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, Sayyiduna Jabir ibn Abdullah, and Sayyiduna Thalabah ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with them all).
