The ruler’s two confidants and their responsibility
Hadith 1298
- " ما من وال إلا وله بطانتان، بطانة تأمره بالمعروف وتنهاه عن المنكر وبطانة لا تألوه خبالا، فمن وقي شرها فقد وقي وهو من التي تغلب عليه منهما ".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every ruler has two confidants: one confidant commands him to do good and forbids him from evil, and the other leaves no stone unturned in bringing about his destruction and ruin. The ruler who is saved from the evil of the latter is indeed protected, and he is the one who prevails."
