Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of some hair from the side of a camel from the war booty and said: “My share in this is the same as yours. Beware of dishonesty, for dishonesty will be a cause of disgrace for the dishonest person on the Day of Resurrection. Return even a thread, a needle, or anything of lesser value. Whether the journey is near or far, whether you are at home or traveling, strive in the path of Allah in every situation, for jihad is one of the gates of Paradise, and through it Allah relieves distress, regret, and sorrow. Establish the limits of Allah on everyone, whether they are relatives or not, and let not the blame of any blamer affect you regarding Allah.”
