Repentance from major sins; tax collection is a major sin
Hadith 1217
- (لقد تاب توبةً، لو تابها صاحب مُكسٍ؛ لقُبِلت منه) .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has repented such (a great) repentance that if a tax collector were to repent in this way, it would also be accepted from him."
