Hadith 111

Muhammad bin Hajjada, from a man, from one of his friends, from his father whose kunyah was Abu Mushfiq, narrates: He said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at the place of Arafah. I came so close to you that the neck of my mount touched the neck of your mount. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell me of an action that will save me from Allah’s punishment and admit me to Paradise. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Worship Allah, do not associate anything with Him, establish the obligatory prayers, pay the obligatory zakat, perform Hajj, perform Umrah, and fast in Ramadan. Furthermore, whatever you like for yourself from the people, do the same for them, and whatever you dislike for yourself from the people, keep them safe from it.” («اشھد» The narrator who said this word is Ibn Hatim Artabai, who is expressing his opinion regarding fasting.)
