Hadith 1102

Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: During the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) set out towards Busra for the purpose of trade. He was so interested in trade that even his love for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) could not stop him. In fact, these people liked the earnings from trade and loved trading, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also did not stop Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) from taking an interest in trade, even though he himself liked his company and loved him. On the other hand, Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) also liked the company of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), but (he preferred to adopt the profession of trade, because) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) considered trade to be good and liked it.
