Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

An Ansari companion narrates: We went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) to offer the funeral prayer for an Ansari man. When we returned, a caller from among the Qurayshi women met us and said: (O Messenger of Allah!) So-and-so woman is inviting you and your companions for food. So the Prophet (peace be upon him) went and (upon entering the house) sat down, and we also sat with him. The Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) began to eat, and his companions also started eating. But when the companions saw that a morsel was in his mouth and he was not swallowing it, they too stopped eating and began to watch what he would do. He (peace be upon him) took the morsel out of his mouth and threw it away and said: "It seems to me that this is the meat of a goat that was taken without the owner's permission. Do this: feed this meat to the prisoners."
