Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said during his illness of death: "Aisha! What happened to the gold?" I said: It is with me. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Bring it to me." It was nine or five dinars. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took it in his hand and, gesturing, said: "What does Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) think about his Lord if he were to meet his Lord while this gold is with him? Now do this: spend it (immediately)." Yazid, the narrator, gestured with his hand (to describe the manner of the Prophet's gesture).
