Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to us while we were talking about poverty and destitution and were afraid of it. He (peace be upon him) said: "Are you afraid of poverty and destitution? By Him in Whose hand is my soul! Abundance in worldly matters will be bestowed upon you to such an extent that this very thing will create crookedness (and deviation) in your hearts. By Allah! I have left you upon a clear religion, whose day and night are equal (in brightness)." Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) spoke the truth; indeed, he left us upon a clear religion, whose day and night are equal.
