Hadith 384
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْسَ بِالطَّوِيلِ الْبَائِنِ، وَلَا بِالْقَصِيرِ، وَلَا بِالْأَبْيَضِ الْأَمْهَقِ، وَلَا بِالْآدَمِ، وَلَا بِالْجَعْدِ الْقَطَطِ، وَلَا بِالسَّبْطِ، بَعَثَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَلَى رَأْسِ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً، فَأَقَامَ بِمَكَّةَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ، وَبِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ، وَتَوَفَّاهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى رَأْسِ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً وَلَيْسَ فِي رَأْسِهِ وَلِحْيَتِهِ عِشْرُونَ شَعْرَةً بَيْضَاءَ»
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was neither very tall nor short in stature, his blessed complexion was neither extremely white nor very wheatish, his blessed hair was neither very curly nor completely straight. Allah Almighty appointed him as a Prophet at the age of forty; (after being sent as a Prophet) he resided in Makkah Mukarramah for ten years and in Madinah Munawwarah for ten years. At the age of sixty, Allah Almighty caused him to pass away. There were not even twenty white hairs in his head and beard.
Hadith 385
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، نَحْوَهُ
Rabee’ah bin Abi Abdur Rahman narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) a narration similar to the one mentioned above.
