Yazid al-Rashk says that I heard from Mu’adhah, she said: I asked Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her): Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) fast three days every month? She replied: Yes! I asked: On which days did he (peace and blessings be upon him) fast? She said: He did not pay attention to any specific day, rather he would fast on any day. Imam Tirmidhi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that by Yazid al-Rashk, Yazid al-Dubai is meant. And he is trustworthy; from him Shu’bah, Abdul Warith bin Sa’id, Hammad bin Zaid, Ismail bin Ibrahim, and many other Imams have narrated. By Yazid al-Qasim and Yazid al-Qassam, the same person is meant. In the language of the people of Basra, Rashk means one who distributes a lot.
