Anas’s following of the Sunnah
Hadith 212
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُزْرَةُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : كَانَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، يَتَنَفَّسُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ ثَلَاثًا، وَزَعَمَ أَنَسٌ، «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَتَنَفَّسُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ ثَلَاثًا»
Thumamah bin Abdullah narrates that Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) used to breathe three times in the vessel while drinking water. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) believed that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also used to breathe three times in the vessel while drinking water.
