It is narrated from Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her), she says that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would come to me and say: “Do you have any food for the morning?” If I said: No, then he (peace be upon him) would say: “Then I am fasting.” She says: One day something came to me, so I said: O Messenger of Allah! A gift has come to me. He (peace be upon him) asked: “What is it?” I replied: It is hais (a sweet dish made of cheese and dried dates). He (peace be upon him) said: “I have been fasting since the morning.” Then he (peace be upon him) ate it.
