It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah on the day of the conquest of Makkah in such a state that there was a helmet on his blessed head. When he removed it, a man came and submitted: Ibn Khatal (whom you had ordered to be killed) is hanging onto the curtains of the Ka‘bah of Allah. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Kill him." Ibn Shihab (al-Zuhri) says: I have received this information that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was not in the state of ihram on that day.
