باب ما جاء فى شعر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلمChapter: What has been reported concerning the hair of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
The Prophet’s (peace be upon him) Limmah (Shoulder-Length Hair)
Hadith 25
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: «كُنْتُ أَغْتَسِلُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ، وَكَانَ لَهُ شَعْرٌ فَوْقَ الْجُمَّةِ وَدُونَ الْوَفْرَةِ»
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: I and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to bathe together from a single vessel, and the blessed hair of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was longer than a jummah and shorter than a wafrah.
Hadith 26
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَطَنٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرْبُوعًا، بَعِيدَ مَا بَيْنَ الْمِنْكَبَيْنِ، وَكَانَتْ جُمَّتُهُ تَضْرِبُ شَحْمَةَ أُذُنَيْهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was of medium stature in terms of physical creation, there was some distance between his two shoulders, and his blessed hair would reach the earlobes.
