Ibrahim bin Muhammad, who was from the descendants (grandsons) of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates that when Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to describe the blessed appearance of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he would say: The stature of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was neither very tall nor completely short, rather his height was average like that of common people. His blessed hair was neither very curly nor completely straight, but slightly wavy. He was neither heavyset nor was his face completely round, but there was a slight roundness. His complexion was fair with a reddish tinge, his eyes were black and his eyelashes were long. The bones of his joints were thick and strong and covered with flesh. There was not excessive hair on his body; from his chest to his navel there was a thin line of hair. His hands and feet were thick and filled with flesh. When he walked, he walked with full strength as if descending from a height. When he turned towards someone, he would turn his full attention towards them. Between his shoulders was the seal of Prophethood, because he (peace and blessings be upon him) was the Seal of the Prophets. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most open-hearted of all people and the most truthful of all people. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was the gentlest of all people and the most sociable of all people. Whoever saw him suddenly would be awestruck, and whoever met him knowingly would love him. The one describing him (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: I have not seen anyone like him (peace and blessings be upon him), either before or after his (peace and blessings be upon him) passing.
