Ja'far bin Muhammad narrates from his father (Muhammad al-Baqir) that he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed away on a Monday. His blessed body remained (among the people) until Monday and the night of Tuesday, and then burial took place at night. The narrator Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah and others say: We heard the sound of shovels in the last part of the night.
