Mother of the Believers, Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), narrates that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, there arose differing opinions regarding the place of his burial. Then, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard a statement from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) which I have not forgotten (rather, I remember it well). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Prophets pass away at the place where they wish to be buried." Thus, the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) buried him (peace and blessings be upon him) at the very spot where his bed was.
