The Prophet disliked people standing for him
Hadith 334
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: «لَمْ يَكُنْ شَخْصٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ» قَالَ: «وَكَانُوا إِذَا رَأَوْهُ لَمْ يَقُومُوا، لِمَا يَعْلَمُونَ مِنْ كَرَاهَتِهِ لِذَلِكَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he said that there was no one more beloved and dear to the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) than the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and when they saw him, they would not stand up for him because they knew of his dislike and displeasure for this action.
