باب ما جاء فى صوم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلمChapter: What has been reported concerning the fasting of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
Fasting three days each month and fasting on Friday?
Hadith 302
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ الْكُوفِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، وَطَلْقُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنُ حُبَيْشٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ مِنْ غُرَّةِ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَامٍ وَقَلَّمَا كَانَ يُفْطِرُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to fast three days from the beginning of every month, and very rarely did he not fast on Friday.
