It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), he says that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would fast to such an extent that we would say he will not leave a single day of this month without fasting, and (at times, for many days) he would not fast, to the extent that we would say he does not wish to fast any day of this month. And since he arrived in (Madina Munawwara), he did not fast the complete month in any month except Ramadan.
