It was asked from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) about the fasting of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he replied: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would fast so much in a month that we would say he will not break his fast, and when he would break his fast, we would say he will not fast at all from it. And if you wished to see him praying at night, you would certainly be able to see him praying, and if you wished to see him sleeping, you would certainly be able to see him sleeping.
