حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرِّشْكِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُعَاذَةَ، قَالَتْ: قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ: أَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الضُّحَى؟ قَالَتْ: «نَعَمْ، أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَيَزِيدُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ»
Yazid al-Rashk (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I heard from Mu'adhah, she said: I asked Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) whether the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform the Duha prayer. She replied: Yes! He used to pray four rak'ahs, and would add more as Allah willed.
