Hadith 263

It is narrated from Aswad bin Yazid, he says: I asked Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) about the night worship of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to sleep in the early part of the night. Then he would get up and stand (in prayer) and take suhoor, and near the time of suhoor he would perform witr, then he would return to his bed, and if there was a need, he would go to his family, then when he heard the (morning) adhan, he would get up quickly, and if he was in a state of janabah, he would pour water over his body, otherwise he would perform wudu and go for prayer.
