Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I have attended the gathering of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) more than a hundred times. In the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) would recite poetry to each other and remind each other of some things from the days of ignorance, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would remain silent. Sometimes, upon hearing their conversations, he would also smile with them.
