Hadith 155
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ التَّمِيمِيِّ، عَنْ زَهْدَمٍ الْجَرْمِيِّ قَالَ: كُنَّا عِنْدَ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ: فَقَدَّمَ طَعَامَهُ وَقَدَّمَ فِي طَعَامِهِ لَحْمَ دَجَاجٍ وَفِي الْقَوْمِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَيْمِ اللَّهِ أَحْمَرُ كَأَنَّهُ مَوْلًى قَالَ: فَلَمْ يَدْنُ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو مُوسَى: «ادْنُ، فَإِنِّي قَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَكَلَ مِنْهُ» ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي رَأَيْتُهُ يَأْكُلُ شَيْئًا فَقَذِرْتُهُ فَحَلَفْتُ أَنْ لَا أَطْعَمَهُ أَبَدًا
It is narrated from Zahdam al-Jarmi, he says: We were with Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) when food was brought to Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), and in that food there was chicken meat. Among those present was a man of red complexion from Banu Taym Allah, who appeared to be a freed slave. He did not come near, so Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Come closer, for indeed I have seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) eating it. He said: I saw it eating something (filthy), so I began to dislike it, and then I swore an oath that I would never eat it.
