It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, never ate food on a table. Nor did he eat from small bowls, nor was fine flour bread (naan) ever made for him (the narrator of the hadith, Yunus, says about his teacher Qatadah): I asked Qatadah, “On what did he (the Prophet, peace be upon him) place the food to eat?” He replied: On a general dining cloth (dastarkhwan). Muhammad bin Bashar says that one of the narrators of this narration, Yunus, who narrates from Qatadah, is Yunus the shoemaker (Yunus al-Skaaf).
