باب ما جاء فى خلق رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلمChapter: What has been reported concerning the physical appearance of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
Ibrahim (peace be upon him) Resembled the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith 13
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ، فَإِذَا مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ ضَرْبٌ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ، كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوءَةَ، وَرَأَيْتُ عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ، فَإِذَا أَقْرَبُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ شَبَهًا عُرْوَةُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، وَرَأَيْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ، فَإِذَا أَقْرَبُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ شَبَهًا صَاحِبُكُمْ، يَعْنِي نَفْسَهُ، وَرَأَيْتُ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَإِذَا أَقْرَبُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ شَبَهًا دِحْيَةُ»
It is narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “(On the night of Mi’raj) the noble Prophets were presented before me, so I saw that Musa (peace be upon him) was a lean, thin man, resembling the people of the tribe of Shanu’ah. And I saw ‘Isa (peace be upon him), and among all the people I have seen, in appearance he most resembled ‘Urwah bin Mas’ud. And I saw Ibrahim (peace be upon him), and among all the people I have seen, in appearance he most resembled your master (peace and blessings be upon him). And I saw Jibril (peace be upon him), and among all the people I have seen, in my view, he most resembled Dihyah (al-Kalbi).”
