Hadith 126

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ جَدَّتَيْهِ، عَنْ قَيْلَةَ بِنْتِ مَخْرَمَةَ، أَنَّهَا رَأَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ الْقُرْفُصَاءَ قَالَتْ: «فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمُتَخَشِّعَ فِي الْجِلْسَةِ أُرْعِدْتُ مِنَ الْفَرَقِ»
Sayyida Qayla bint Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sitting in the mosque with his arms wrapped around his legs. She says: When I saw him sitting in this humble manner, I began to tremble out of fear.
