Hadith 3046
Abu Ishaq, may Allah have mercy on him, says about the person who swore to perform Hajj on foot, then became unable to walk, that he should ride (an animal). And he says that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, said about such a person that if he performs Hajj the following year, he may travel as much as he wishes riding and as much as he wishes on foot, and he may travel while riding. Kuraib narrates a marfu’ (attributed to the Prophet) narration from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, that the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “That woman should ride and pay the expiation for her oath.”

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that a man came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "My sister has vowed to walk on foot to the Sacred House (for Hajj)." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah will not gain anything from your sister's hardship and distress (He is free of need). Tell your sister to ride (an animal) for Hajj and to offer expiation for her oath."
