Hadith 3043
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw an old man who was coming, dragging himself with the support of his two sons. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What has happened to this old man?" His two sons replied, "O Messenger of Allah, our father has made a vow to walk on foot." So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O old man, ride! Indeed, Allah is free from need of you and your such vow."
Hadith 3044
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw an old man who was dragging himself along with the support of his two sons. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is happening here?" The companions replied: "The old man has vowed to go to the Sacred House (the Ka'bah) on foot (and to perform Hajj and Umrah)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah is not in need of this person putting himself in hardship." Then he ordered him to ride (an animal).
