Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah

Hazrat Bara bint Nubhan narrates that she used to be the caretaker of an idol house during the time of ignorance. She states that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) delivered a sermon to us on the Day of Heads (the day of eating heads, 12th Dhul-Hijjah) and said: "Which city is this?" We replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "Is this not the Sacred Monument (Mash'ar Haram)?" We replied, "Why not." He asked: "What day is this?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "Is this not the middle day of the Days of Tashreeq?" We replied, "Why not." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, your blood—" In Ishaq's narration, there is an addition: "and your honor and your wealth are forbidden to one another just as your day today is sacred in this month of yours and in this city of yours." Janab Ishaq has narrated this addition: "Therefore, let the one who is near convey these commands to the one who is far. O Allah, have I conveyed Your commands? O Allah, have I conveyed Your religion? O Allah, have I conveyed Your Shari'ah and Your message to them?"
