Hadith Q2972
And in this is also evidence that after throwing pebbles at the first Jamrah, one should stand in front of it. One should not stand behind it or to its right or left. And after throwing pebbles at the second Jamrah, one should stand on its left side near the valley. After throwing pebbles at the first and second Jamrah, one should stand facing the Qiblah, and at both places, one should raise the hands for supplication.

Imam Zuhri, may Allah have mercy on him, says that when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would stone the Jamrah closest to the mosque, he would throw seven pebbles at it, and with each pebble he would recite « اللهُ أَكْبَرُ », then he would move ahead of it, stand facing the Qiblah, raise both his hands and supplicate, and he would stand for a long time. Then he would come to the second Jamrah and, saying « اللهُ أَكْبَرُ », throw seven pebbles at it. Then he would descend to the left side near the valley, stand facing the Qiblah, raise both his hands and supplicate. Then he would come to the Jamrah of Aqabah and throw seven pebbles at it, reciting « اللهُ أَكْبَرُ » with each pebble. Then he would return and would not stay there. Imam Zuhri, may Allah have mercy on him, says that I heard Hazrat Salim bin Abdullah narrate in the same manner from his noble father, and he used to say that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, also acted in the same way. In the narration of Janab Yunus, it is mentioned that when he would stone the Jamrah of Aqabah, with each pebble he would say « اللهُ أَكْبَرُ », then he would return and would not stay there. And he said that Hazrat Salim narrates a similar narration from his noble father. The rest of the narration is like the narration of Muhammad bin Yahya.
