Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you have performed the stoning (Rami) and shaved your head, then perfume and wearing clothes become lawful for you, except for intercourse with women." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the words of the hadith "except for marriage" mean intercourse with one's wife. I have explained in the book Ma‘ani al-Qur’an that among the Arabs, the word "nikah" is used for both the marriage contract and intercourse with one's wife.
If this wording is established in the report of Amrah, from Aisha, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and if this wording is not established from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, then the report of Aisha regarding her perfuming the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, indicates that hunting is permissible if perfuming is permissible. And the report of Umm Salamah explicitly states that hunting after throwing the Jamrah is allowed, and it is his, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Indeed, this is a day in which it has been permitted for you, when you have thrown the Jamrah, to be released from everything that was forbidden to you except from women." I have presented this chapter in its place after the report of Ukkashah ibn Mihsan in this as well.

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I applied perfume to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). And the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is most deserving of being followed.

Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when a pilgrim has stoned the Jamrah ‘Aqabah, shaved his head, and slaughtered the sacrifice, then everything becomes lawful for him except perfume and intercourse with his wife. Sayyiduna Salim says that Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: then everything becomes lawful for him except intercourse with his wife. And she said: I applied perfume to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (before the Tawaf al-Ziyarah). Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that in the narration of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), it is mentioned: I applied perfume to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) before the Tawaf al-Ziyarah at the time of removing Ihram. This is evidence that when he had stoned the Jamrah ‘Aqabah, slaughtered the sacrifice, and shaved his head, he had removed the Ihram before performing the Tawaf al-Ziyarah. Only intercourse with the wife was prohibited, because the scholars are unanimous that intercourse with the wife before Tawaf al-Ziyarah is prohibited.
