Hadith Q2892
Contrary to the position of those scholars who have disliked this method and, due to unfamiliarity with the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him), have declared it an innovation.
Hadith 2893
Hazrat Ziyad bin Jubair narrates that I saw Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) come to a man who had made his sacrificial camel sit down in Mina in order to slaughter it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Make it stand up and, according to the Sunnah of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), tie one of its legs and then slaughter it." This narration is from Hazrat Ziyad bin Ayyub.

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificed seven camels while they were standing, with his blessed hand. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that this narration of Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) is of the same type which I have mentioned in several places in my books, that a number does not negate a greater number. Therefore, the statement of Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificed seven camels with his blessed hand does not prove that he did not sacrifice more than seven camels, because Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) has narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificed sixty-three camels with his blessed hand.
