Hadith Q2760
I fear that a person who does not understand the difference between a concise and an explanatory narration may think that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ran the entire distance from Safa to Marwah and from Marwah to Safa.
Hadith 2760
Hazrat Amr bin Dinar narrates that we asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), so he said: Indeed, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Makkah Mukarramah, he performed seven circuits (Tawaf) of the Sacred House (Baytullah), and offered two rak‘ahs at Maqam Ibrahim, and performed seven circuits (Sa‘i) between Safa and Marwah. (Then Ibn Umar said) « لَّقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ » [ سورة الأحزاب : 21 ] "Indeed, for you in the Messenger of Allah (is) the best example."
